Diana Che was born in Germany but grew up in Orange County where she learned to play volleyball by the shores of Huntington Beach. Diana transitioned her athletic career from figure skating to volleyball in 2011 at Westminster High School, where she quickly adapted and rapidly developed her skills to become a three-year varsity outside hitter. During her time at WHS, she received multiple awards including Most Improved, Lion Heart (Coach's Award), MVP, and Player of the Year in the Goldenwest League.

She moved on to play at Orange Coast College (2016-2017) for the Indoor and Beach Program, earning the Best Defensive Player award in 2016 for Beach. She continued to play and lead as captain for the Women's Club Volleyball team at University of California, San Diego (2018-2020), which annually ranks top 25 at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation in Division I. Diana was also a prominent advocate of starting the Beach Club program in 2019 at UCSD and assisted running drills with the new team.
